Venture into Ecstatic Dance
This is the first ecstatic dance mix I've put together since the age of about 16 when I was kneeling on the floor of my bedroom annoying my parents and elderly neighbours spinning trance and funky house vinyl. In many ways I think music has both saved me from and encouraged a kind of utilitarian insanity that rumbles just beneath the surface of my persona. These beats and waves were slung together for the Amsterdam workshop. Plenty tribal, deep house and gentle interludes with a cosmic journey flavour. I really had the best time mixing this one, it features artists such as Peter Gabriel, Barrio lindo, Nicola cruz, Parov Stelar, Kellerkind, Grandbrothers, El Remolon, Jon Hopkins, EvenS, Amber Run, Kiasmos, Martina camargo, Danheim, James Vincent McMorrow, Flume vs June Marie Z, A beacon school, M83, Gregory Alan Isakov with a bit of Riverdance and Digeridoo thrown in for good measure.
